Transparency is our standard. Here you'll find precise answers to questions about costs, process, guarantee and privacy.
Vermio is completely free for companies – until actual hire. There is no listing fee, no retainer and no upfront payment. Platform use, candidate browsing and communication with recruiters are free throughout the search process.
Payment is due only when a candidate matched through Vermio actually starts work. The success commission is negotiated individually before the search begins and documented in writing in the placement agreement.
The commission is calculated as a percentage of the agreed gross annual target salary of the matched candidate (fixed salary including any fixed bonus, excluding variable components). The exact commission rate is subject to individual agreement.
Payment is due on the contractually agreed date of the candidate's first day of work – regardless of whether the company has already communicated the hire internally. Invoice is issued by Vermio within five business days after the candidate starts.
Payment term: Net 14 days from invoice date, unless otherwise agreed in the placement agreement.
If a matched candidate declines the job in writing before their first day of work and the company informs us immediately, the commission obligation is completely waived. No payment is due.
Vermio will begin a new candidate search immediately after clarification with the company – without new fees for reopening the position.
Step 1 – Post job free (5 minutes): You describe the position on the platform. No long forms, no phone call needed.
Step 2 – Recruiters apply (within 24h): Verified freelance recruiters with expertise in your area see the job and apply actively. You select your preferred recruiter.
Step 3 – Candidate presentation (48–72h): Your recruiter presents first, anonymized candidate profiles with AI fit-score. You signal interest; the recruiter releases full profiles.
Step 4 – Interviews and decision: You conduct interviews directly. Vermio supports with interview guides and coordinates scheduling on request.
Step 5 – Hire and billing: The candidate starts. You receive an invoice.
Typically, qualified recruiters apply to your job within 24 hours. After selecting the recruiter and a brief briefing call, first candidate proposals can arrive within 48–72 hours.
Total time to hire depends on position complexity, market segment and your company's internal decision speed. For specialized roles, we typically see 3–6 weeks until offer.

Conditions for the guarantee:
Since Vermio operates on a pure success basis, you incur no costs if no hire occurs. There are no failure fees, no processing charges and no cancellation fees.
You can request another recruiter on the platform at any time or pause the search. There is no binding commitment to a specific recruiter beyond the agreed search period.
Vermio processes personal data exclusively in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and data protection laws. Regarding candidate data, Vermio acts as a data processor under Article 28 GDPR.
Candidate profiles are displayed anonymized on the platform until explicitly released by the recruiter. Companies access full profiles only after the candidate has given explicit consent through the recruiter.
Infrastructure runs on European servers. Companies acting as data controllers can request a data processing agreement (DPA) on demand. Details: Privacy Policy →
By registering on the platform, you accept Vermio's Terms of Service. These form the legal basis for platform use.
For the actual placement service, an individual placement agreement is signed that documents the position-specific commission, guarantee period and any special agreements. This agreement is digitally signed before active candidate search begins.
The application is completely online and takes about 15 minutes. You create a detailed profile: specializations, previous industries, documented placements, preferred compensation models and references.
Every application is manually reviewed by our team. We check track record, specialization depth and references. We'll share our decision within 48 business hours.
We seek experienced freelance recruiters with proven track record. Specifically:
Career changers without documented placement success cannot currently be accepted.
Exact commission rates and split models are discussed individually in a personal demo call – so we can address your profile, specialization and experience. We deliberately don't publish flat percentages, as they wouldn't reflect the reality of individual agreements.
What we can say: Compensation is on a pure success basis. You receive your share upon documented hire, after company payment reaches Vermio and after a short clearing period.
Payment occurs once the company's commission reaches Vermio. Vermio invoices the company within five business days after the candidate's start date with a 14-day payment term.
After payment is received and a brief clearing period passes, your commission share is transferred to your account. You receive a billing statement for tax documentation.
Each verified recruiter gets access to their own, completely separate talent pool. You can add candidates in several ways:
For each open position, the system automatically calculates an AI fit-score for every candidate in your pool – based on skills, experience, salary expectations and location. You can suggest candidates directly for positions and track status in the dashboard.
No exclusivity. You can use Vermio alongside your existing freelance work and continue working for other companies or agencies. There is no minimum engagement commitment.
We only expect that you handle accepted positions with appropriate priority and deliver first candidate proposals within agreed timeframes. Repeated non-delivery may result in a review of platform access.
As a self-employed recruiter, you're required under Vermio's Terms to:
Your talent pool is completely isolated from other recruiters. No other recruiter on the platform can view or contact your candidates. Companies see candidates only when you explicitly release them for a specific position.
Platform infrastructure is GDPR-compliant and hosted on European servers. Database access is secured by row-level security at the database level – your pool is technically isolated from all other user data.
Upon termination of your recruiter account, your candidate data will be deleted on request or exported to you, unless statutory retention requirements apply.
